Incredible Iceland Wedding Filmed By White Balloon Films
It’s a tough job but someone’s got to do it! Alina and I were lucky enough to be invited by Christina and Gordon to film their wedding in Iceland. An astonishing, dramatic landscape, like the Highlands of Scotland, Iceland is the perfect place for us to put to good use our cinematic wedding filmmaking skills. For Christina and Gordon, the wedding film was always a priority when organising their destination wedding in Iceland and after looking internationally for the perfect videographer, as chance would have it, they found a team who lived just down the road…us!
We spent two days in Iceland capturing an intimate wedding ceremony at the famous Budir Black Church on the first day. The following day, we enjoyed a filmmaking road trip with the couple, returning to the black beaches of Vik, the spot where Gordon proposed to Christina. As you can see in the film, we captured some incredible scenes in Iceland however we were always mindful that it is called a destination wedding for a reason, NOT a destination photoshoot! At White Balloon Films, we capture the emotions of the people during the day. Yes, we love the drama and intensity of our epic wedding cinematography but of equal importance are the small moments amongst the family and friends who attend your destination wedding.
This film is of course just the wedding highlights. The main event is the feature film which for a destination wedding can range from 15-25 minutes depending on whether you are by yourselves having a small elopement with no guests or whether you are having a huge wedding with hundreds of guests.
